Prof. Bolanle Awe, UI Vice Chancellor, and Others Grace WORDOC, IAS, 2026 Children's Summit
The Women Research and Documentation Centre (WORDOC), Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, hosted boys and girls between the age of 8 and 16 to the 2026 Children's Summit themed "Future Now: Promoting Inclusion".
The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Kayode Adebowale and the pioneer Coordinator of the Centre, Prof. Bolanle Awe among others. While welcoming guests to the event, the Director of the Institute, Prof. Sola Olorunyomi thanked Prof. Awe, the VC, the children and their parents for honouring the event. He also expressed gratitude to the WORDOC Coordinator, Dr Abiola V. Ayodokun for furthering earlier efforts made by previous Coordinators.
The event featured welcome addresses from distinguished personalities, keynote speech by Dr Sade Taiwo, an address on Mental Health and Stigmtization by Mrs Akinluyi Oluwakemi, breakout sessions facilitated by APIN and African Storytelling by Mr Kunle Idowu. The event was moderated by Mrs Foluke Owolabi, UMC, Diamond Radio.
