IAS Collaborates with African Governance Institute for Development on AI Workshop
The Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan takes another step further in capacity building with Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Academia Training in collaboration with African Governance Institute for Development on the 20th and 21st of August, 2026. The participants in the workshop included academic and non-academic members of staff and students. The workshop featured hands-on training on the efficient and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence tools - ChatGPT, NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) and Claude.
The facilitator of the training, Dr Jinmi Awokola, Ope Oyeniyi, Tosin Ijadunola and others from the African Governance Institute for Development, under the leadership of Hon. Sèyí Adisa, encouraged participants to cultivate the attitude of open mindedness towards AI and emerging technological tools and develop a mastery of AI for research and day-to-day tasks because of its capacity to boost efficiency.
