Public Lecture: Professor Maurizio Carbone Gives Lecture on SAMOA Agreement (July 16, 2025)

As a non-monetary agreement, the intranational and international politics and conflict of interest through foreign policies between members of European Union and Organisation of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific States were highlighted in the lecture.
The Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan hosts Professor Maurizio Carbone from the University of Glasgow for a public lecture on his participation in the SAMOA Agreement which he titled “Contested Preparation and Implementation, Deliberate Negotiation: An Insider’s view of the SAMOA Agreement between the EU and the OACPS”.
As a non-monetary agreement, the intranational and international politics and conflict of interest through foreign policies between members of European Union and Organisation of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific States were highlighted in the lecture. The lecture attracted interventions and questions on international relations and gender issues. The lecture was graced by members of the faculty, students and scholars in the university community.
