The Director of IFRA-Nigeria, Professor Barbara Morovich, gives a lecture on the interdisciplinarity of Anthropology in what she describes as “Porous Anthropology”, which highlighted her fieldwork in Urban Contexts in France, Argentina, Kenya and Nigeria. The lecture, which was her first, held on Tuesday, 13th of August, 2025, was described by Professor Morovich as her baptism into class lecture in the University of Ibadan towards the end of her term as the Director of the French Institute for Research in Africa Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan.
The lecture generated interventions and questions on her choice of Anthropology, interdisciplinarity, choice of urban cities, and trust and ethics in stigmatised contexts, which she gladly responded to and appreciated the students for their participation and interventions in the lecture. Professor Barbara Morovich’s tenure as the Director of IFRA-Nigeria comes to an end in August 2025.
