The lecture and discussion generated topical question about the history of knowledge production, research, institutes creation, sponsorship for knowledge production in Africa and decolonial attempts.
Dr Mutiat Titilope OLADEJO (Department of History, University of Ibadan) gave the third Critical Decoloniality: Afro-global perspectives lecture on (De)colonial dynamics of science-based research at the University of Ibadan (Nigeria), 1962-1983 on the 25th of June, 2025 in Drapers Hall, Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, while Dr Ayo Adeduntan (Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan was the discussant.
The lecture and discussion generated topical question about the history of knowledge production, research, institutes creation, sponsorship for knowledge production in Africa and decolonial attempts. The gender dynamics to the topic was also raised by Professors Sola Olorunyomi and Barbara Morovich, the Directors of IAS and IFRA-Nigeria. The lecture was graced by scholars and students from different faculties in the University and the general public.
